"An object at rest tends to stay at rest, unless an external force acts upon it and an object in motion tends to stay in motion, unless an external force acts upon it."

--Sir Isaac Newton's First Law of Motion

___________________________________________________________________

Newton's First Law of Motion is just as real for human movement.

We, the human race, once lived in an environment that required us to move constantly and purposefully, or else we died.  A human at rest who stayed at rest was lion-bait at best, and dead-weight to the tribe at worst The environment was the external force acting upon us to move.  Nature shaped us and made us human; it made us fit and strong in the most comprehensive way. Essentially, we were Fit by Nature.  Makes sense, right?

Today, however, we rarely have any external forces requiring us to move much beyond driving to work and shopping for groceries at the supermarket.  These situations are extremely far removed from the day-to-day activities that our species dealt with for most of our existence. So foreign is the majorly sedentary lifestyle we lead to our bodies, that it is literally killing us.  As the body deteriorates, so does the brain, taking our minds along with it.  There really is nothing that physical inactivity helps, and nothing that physical activity does not improve.  Yet, we are no longer surrounded by the external forces that once required us to move how we were meant to and, likewise, we no longer are as vibrant and healthful was we once were.

This is where Fit by Nature Training comes into play.  The aim of Fit by Nature Training is to be the external force that gets you moving, and to be the constant source of motivation that keeps you in that state of motion.  Movement is in your nature as a human being.  In fact, movement is your nature.  And, when you are true to your nature, you will become fit through that nature. Hence, the name of this business.  And, no, that does not mean I'm going to set lions on you.  I can't afford lions.

Once you are in this steady state of movement, Fit by Nature Training will ensure this movement remains balanced and authentic through the use of the Functional Movement Screen.  Then, we will truly begin to develop real human fitness.

But what is fitness?

To answer that, let us begin by stating what fitness is not.

Fitness is not tone abs, or bulging biceps.  Fitness is not a Cybex machine.  Fitness is not a cycling class.

Neither is fitness a combination of strength, flexibility, power, aerobic capacity, etc.  Those are merely components of fitness.  Fitness is more than the sum of its parts.

Rather, on a biological perspective, fitness is physical competence in responding to the demands placed upon you by both the environment and the situation at hand.  It is your ability to adapt to imperfections.  It is about being able to deal with the world you live in.  Whether it's picking up a box of toys, or an injured friend, sprinting after the bus you just missed, or climbing into a tree to help your cat, any situation that requires a physical response is going to require a certain amount of fitness.

Because of this, Fit by Nature Training, in parallel, aims to get you physically competent by teaching you the skills needed in practical situations while symbiotically developing optimum, whole-body physical conditioning through the systematic training of these skills.  This training is best done through the practice of MovNata physical education system that trains physical competence for practical performance by practicing the natural movement skills inherent to the human species. MovNat aims at effectiveness, efficiency, and adaptability.  It is for everyone; being safe, fully scalable to each individual, and supports physical competence towards any area or activity in life.

MovNat Level 2 Certified Trainer and MovNat Partner, ISSA CFT, FMS Level 1, CPR/AED/First Aid.

Aaron began his journey into the world of health and fitness when his older brother forced him off a computer video game and made him run three miles. What began as a love/hate relationship with exercise and workouts, gradually evolved into a need for movement and a constant source of enjoyment.

Following an overuse injury during his first year of high school cross country, he began to explore alternative forms of fitness.  After dabbling in barefoot running, parkour, and simply moving about his environment, Aaron's brother showed him an article in Men's Health Magazine (which can be read here) about Erwan Le Corre and his movement philosophy: MovNat.

MovNat soon became a great passion for Aaron, leading him to attend one of the first MovNat certification events in Orange County, California.  He now attends Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan and is studying to become a physical therapist.  His dream is to one day open a facility that is both a MovNat Affiliate Gym and a movement based physical therapy clinic all in one.
